CSULB: Starry Hope
Software: Garment Patternmaking, Garment Construction, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
Inspired by the elegance, harshness, and mysteriousness of nature, the reversible jacket and dress incorporates geometric forms and asymmetry represents the transformation of its wearer. From a more subtle blue and gold look to a bold gold and black, this garment is designed to be worn in different stages of its wearer's self-exploration.
The process for both the jacket and dress began with creating technical flat sketches in Adobe Illustrator. Then, the design is created at a half-scale first then full-scale on pattern paper and muslin mockups were constructed. After adjustments were made to the mockups, the adjustments were transferred back to the pattern. The final garment was then cut and constructed.
After the garment was created, I gathered images from Pixabay and Pexels and used Adobe Photoshop to simulate the model wearing the garment. The atmosphere of the background is what I envision the wearer to feel while wearing the garment.
